Concerts in the Park of Peterhof Palace, a Russian palace on the Gulf of Finnland, which is considered the „Russian Versailles“; in Mikhailovsky Garden, one of the rarest architectural landscape monuments, and on the Fortress Peter and Paul, which forms the origin and the historical center of the city of St. Petersburg.

The Fortress is the central part of the inner city of St. Petersburg and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991.

50th anniversary of the Military Music Band VORARLBERG with an anniversary concert with the Military Music Band VORARLBERG on the „Sonnenkönigin“, an event ship newly put into operation on Lake Constance for very special events in Bregenz in the Austrian State of Vorarlberg.

 

At the Military Music Festival in the UPC-Arena in Graz in the Austrian province of Styria, Hannes APFOLTERER conducted all Austrian Military Music Bands in a joint performance of his composition „Love and Peace“ in memory of the two this year completely unexpectedly deceased Music Officers of the Austrian Armed Forces:

Participation as the FIRST Austrian Military Music Band on the African continent in the „World Military Music Festival“ in Tripoli, LIBYA (After a concert by the string orchestra of Gardemusik Vienna in 2000 in Tunisia), as Austrian Representative.

 

Libya presided over the African Union during this period and celebrated the 15th anniversary of the African Union in the time of this Great Festival.

 

A special honor was given to Lieutenant Colonel Hannes APFOLTERER:

Alternately with a Scottish and a Russian conductor, he conducted the Great Parade, which lasted more than two hours, with the huge military orchestra of about 1.000 international Military Musicians in the Green Square in Tripoli.

 

Musical Performance at „Jägerball“ („Ball of the hunters“) in the Hofburg in Vienna.

 

On December 17, at the arrival of the Olympic flame at Innsbruck airport (In January 2012, the First Olympic Youth Winter Games took place in Innsbruck) the Olympic Anthem of Spyros SAMARAS, which has been edited and prepared for Large Wind Orchestras by Hannes APFOLTERER, was premiered by the Military Music Band TYROL under his conduction.

 

The Olympic Anthem of Spyros SAMARAS (1861-1917) was first played in Athens in 1896, but was recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the official anthem, however, only in 1958.

 

Musical participation in the Great Jubilee of the Tyrolean Sagittarius on June, 22. The so-called Landlibell was signed by Emperor Maximilian 500 years ago. In this document, it was determined that all Tyroleans in the event of a threat within the country’s borders have to perform military service. Before the ceremonial act at the Landhausplatz in Innsbruck, hundreds of participants from Associations had moved from Landestheater through the city center to the event place. They were led thereby by the Military Music Band TYROL, a solemn highlight was the performance of the Great Tattoo of the Austrian Armed Forces.

 

At the invitation, stated by name, with the exceptional acceptance of the entire and subsistence expenses by the organizer, the Military Music Band TYROL could participate in the „IMMF Festival International de Musiques militaires du Québec“ in Québec-City, CANADA. The famous Canadian Regiment „Regiments Les Voltigeurs de Québec“ celebrated its 200th anniversary additionally during these days.

 

Thus, the Military Music Band TYROL was the FIRST Austrian Military Music Band on the American continent.

Participation as the FIRST Austrian Military Music Band in the world famous International Military Music Festival „Spasskaya Tower“ on Red Square in Moscow, RUSSIA, as Austrian Representative.

 

March parade on Tverskaya, the main street of Moscow, which was once the first part of a connection to the west and the first stone-paved street in Moscow.

 

Concerts on Red Square, next to the GUM department store, in the Gorki-Park, etc.

 

Participation in the 10th International Military Music Festival in Bavaria in the Olympic Ice Stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, GERMANY, as Austrian Representative.

In May, musical accompaniment of the AUSTRIA-Delegation on the International Soldier-Pilgrimage to Lourdes, FRANCE, with an orchestra consisting of the Ensembles Nr. 6 (Tyrol) and Nr. 9 (Vorarlberg) of the Austrian Military Music.

 

In June, musical arrangement of the ceremony „200 years Tyrolean Kaiserjäger“ on the Landhaus-Platz in Innsbruck by Colonel Prof. Hannes APFOLTERER with a special orchestra, consisting of the Ensembles Nr. 6 (Tyrol) and Nr. 8 (Salzburg) of the Austrian Military Music and the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik.

 

At the Military Music Festival in Oberwart in the Austrian province of Burgenland, Colonel Hannes APFOLTERER conducted all Austrian Military Music Bands in a joint performance in the contribution „Ladies first“, arranged by him.

 

In October, at the event „Brass Music Fascination“ on the occasion 70 years of Brass Band Association Tyrol in the Olympic Hall in Innsbruck, Colonel Hannes APFOLTERER participated with 2 orchestras: The Military Music Band TYROL and the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik.

 

For the „Ball of the officers“ in the Hofburg in Vienna on January 19, Colonel Professor Hannes APFOLTERER on behalf of the Ministry of Defense had worked out a musical midnight show.

 

From the best Military Musicians of the Austrian Military Music Bands he formed the SHOW-ORCHESTRA of the Austrian Armed Forces and presented with this the midnight show.

 

At the end of the 25th meeting of the shooters from the Alpine regions on May 26, in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal, the Military Music Band TYROL performed the Great Tattoo of the Austrian Armed Forces.

 

At the 2nd part of the Military Music Festival on 21 and 22 June in Salzburg, Colonel Prof. Hannes APFOLTERER conducted in a joint performance 8 Austrian Military Music Bands and background-singers from all Austrian Military Music Bands in the musical contribution „Emotions“ („Last call“ and „Can you feel the love tonight“), arranged by him.

Vocal and instrumental soloist was the Military Music Band Conductor of the Military Music Band CARINTHIA, Lieutenant Colonel Dietmar PRANTER.

 

Musical accompaniment to the opening ceremonies of the Nordic World Ski Championship 2019 on February 20 in Seefeld and the closing ceremonies on March 3, 2019.

 

At the Military Music Festival in June in Linz in the Tips Arena, Colonel APFOLTERER conducted as an interlude the large military orchestra with about 450 Austrian musicians, who performed Georg Friedrich HÄNDEL’S Fireworks Music in dialogue with a church organ.

At the organ war the Military Music Band Conductor of Carinthia, Lieutenant Colonel Dietmar PRANTER.

 

In June the recordings for 2 CDs were made, namely the one for the Austrian Black Cross (War Graves Commisison) and the modern CD „Unexpected“ with vocal and instrumental Soloists.
